Genesis: Truman, American Jews, and the Origins of the Arab/Israeli Conflict

(Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2014)

Author John B. Judis in conversation with David G. Marwell, Museum Director

In his provocative new book, Judis, a senior editor at The New Republic, reassesses Truman's position on the creation of the State of Israel. The author argues that the country that came into being in 1948 was not the one the president had hoped for, and that Truman's experience was a disturbing portent for the future.

Crafts, Storytelling, Dance Performance, and Games: 11 A.M. - 2 P.M. Concert: 12 P.M.

Anticipate the joyous arrival of summer at a multicultural outdoor festival featuring music by kiddie rocker Brady Rymer, Native American hoop dancer Marie McKinney-Ponce, and Play Me a Story.

In Wagner Park, adjacent to the Museum. Picnicking encouraged. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

In case of rain, the event will be held in the Museum. Due to limited capacity, tickets will be released on a first-come first served basis starting at 10 A.M.
