Emma Lazarus Share

A free smart-phone walking tour of Emma Lazarus’ New York, narrated by Julianna Margulies and featuring a reading of “The New Colossus” by renowned actress Meryl Streep, has been developed in conjunction with the exhibition.

The mobile tour features 19 historic sites throughout Lower Manhattan, Greenwich Village, Union Square, Chinatown, Chelsea, midtown, and the East River that helped shape Emma’s legacy. The application is a GPS-enabled tour and map that consists of annotated historic tour sites, a slide show, and audio commentary. The tour is available for iPhone and Android, and at the Museum.

Produced using Tristan Interactive’s platform, Autour

Delmonico’s, a Lazarus family favorite featured on the app, will give 15% off food and beverage for à la carte lunch and dinners to customers who show their smart phone displaying the app. In Emma’s time the restaurant was located in Union Square; today it is at 56 Beaver Street in the Financial District.
Tax and service are not included in the discount. This offer is valid until August 31, 2012 and may not be combined with any other offers.
