The Keeping History Center is a new interactive digital visitor experience overlooking New York Harbor. Visitors have the opportunity to explore our stories and collections, and to understand that we are all participants in, as well as custodians of, our history.
Phase I includes two installations: the Garden of Stones Timekeeper and
the Voices of Liberty soundscape.
Timekeeper is a virtual exploration of Andy Goldsworthy’s stunning memorial
Garden of Stones. See how the Garden was created and how it has changed and grown over time and seasons. Visit the Garden of Stones online or in person and then experience Timekeeper for yourself.
Voices of Liberty is a soundscape of diverse voices—of Holocaust survivors, refugees, and others who chose to make the US their home. Enter the exhibition site here.
The Center, dedicated by Morton Pickman in memory of Morris and Fannie Pickman,
is made possible by a generous grant from Lower Manhattan Development Corporation,
which is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; with additional support from New York State Senator Eric T. Schneiderman. The Center is designed by
C&G Partners and Potion in conjunction with the Museum.
