The mission of the Young Friends of the Museum is to inspire and involve the young professional community (ages 21-40) of the metropolitan area through social, educational, and philanthropic programming, to celebrate Jewish heritage, to carry the torch of remembrance of the Holocaust, and to shape the next generation of Jewish leadership.

Young Friends Members receive the Museum's Official Membership Card, two free admission passes to the Museum, a 15% discount in the Museum Shop, a subscription to the Museum newsletter, and our seasonal calendar of Museum events and programs. PLUS, ticket discounts for all Young Friends programs and other major Museum fundraising events.

complimentary ticket to the Generation to Generation dinner.


$1,000 - Young Friends Curator's Circle                                   
Patron members at this level receive an invitation to an         

exclusive event with the Museum curator and senior staff,

and a complimentary ticket to the Museum's Golf and

Tennis Outing.


$2,500 - Young Friends Director's Circle                                  
Patron members at this level receive a copy of a Museum      

book or catalog, special services to assist with event

ticketing,an escorted tour of the Museum for up to 10

guests, and a complimentary ticket to the annual Heritage

Dinner.


$5,000 - Young Friends Chairman's Circle                               
Patron members at this level receive all the benefits of the    

Director's Circle membership, including a complimentary

ticket to the annual Heritage Dinner, and an invitation to

an exclusive event with the Museum's Chairman, the

Honorable Robert M. Morgenthau.

Every year, Jews mark the anniversary of the death of loved ones, fulfilling a sacred obligation to remember. For many of the six million who were murdered during the Holocaust, no one knows when that anniversary falls. To mourn them and to commemorate the loss of all who perished, a special day has been set aside--Yom HaShoah--a day when the entire community gathers to remember and reflect.

Over 200 Young Friends really got into the spirit of Purim this past year, raising nearly $10, 000 to benefit Museum programming. Guests had fun dressing up in costumes, drinking, dancing, and winning fantastic prizes in our raffle, including a two-night stay at the Thompson Hotel LES, Philosophy & Bliss Spa Gift Baskets, a 3-Month Equinox Membership, private lesson with “the Liquid Chef," celebrity Mixologist Junior Merino, and much more!

The Young Friends held their 8th Annual celebration of the Festival of Lights with cocktails, hors d'oeuvrers, fine wines, great entertainment and hundreds of young Jewish professionals from the metropolitan area.

In celebration fo the 10th Anniversary of the Museum, the Young Friends held a wine and vodka tasting on the Museum's terrace. Guests enjoyed an elegant a delicious buffet and breathtaking views of the New York harbor with great company and fine jazz. Proceeds for this event will help to fund the Museum's Teacher Education Program, which serves over 2,000 public, Catholic, and Jewish school teacher annually through an array of symposia and professional development sessions.

Up-and-coming Jewish artists took the stage for a dynamic evening of downtown’s best comedy and music. The festivities continued with an after-party on the Museum’s third floor terrace overlooking New York Harbor.

Museum of Jewish Heritage

The Young Friends took a unique look into the the life of Irene Nemirovsky, the subject of an upcoming special exhibit.

The story of Irène Némirovsky and her unfinished Suite Française is more than literary history. It is a story of a woman and her daughters, of promise and legacy, of identity and loss. It is the story of a Russian Jew, a Catholic convert, a French woman of letters.

The evening continued with cocktails and hor d'ouevres.
