The Young Friends of the Museum Book Club gathered for a discussion of The Innocents by Francesca Segal.  Called “Slyly humorous and deeply satisfying” by the Jewish Book Council, the novel is inspired by the Edith Wharton classic The Age of Innocence.

Light Up the Night, Young Friends Annual Hanukkah Event

Barbra Streisand Film Series Launch Cocktail Party

The Young Friends presented the opening night of the 2013 Museum of Jewish Heritage's free summer film series: Hello Gorgeous: The Films of Barbra Streisand. The film screening of Funny Girl began with a series introduction by Streisand biographer, William J. Mann followed by a complimentary cocktail reception sponsored by Manhattan Beer Distributors, Utz Potato Chips, and Indiana Popcorn. The Young Friends Book Club was delighted to welcome author Erika Dreifus as she led a discussion of her latest book, Quiet Americans. Milly Boutique designer and founder, Michelle Smith joined the Young Friends at her flagship store as they shopped and enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres by Prime Butcher Baker.  Guests received 10% off all purchases while the Museum of Jewish Heritage received 10% of the evening’s proceeds.

Punchline Purim

To celebrate Purim, the Young Friends enjoyed a comedy show at the Upper West Side comedy club, Stand Up NY featuring a line-up of all Jewish comedians, including Warren Holstein, Avi Liberman, and the two-time Emmy Award winner, Judy Gold.
