FEBRUARY

Red Orchestra: The Story of the Berlin Underground and the Circle of Friends Who Resisted Hitler — Author Anne Nelson, filmmaker Stefan Roloff, and Museum curator Bonnie Gurewitsch will discuss this compelling account of the German Resistance on Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30 P.M.

 

The End of the Jews — Author Adam Mansbach will discuss his novel with journalist and author Joan Morgan on Sunday, February 21 at 2:30 P.M. 

A Taste of Limmud — Participate in an evening of tours, workshops, and discussions designed to encourage discovery and learning for Jews of all backgrounds on Tuesday, February 23 at 7 P.M.

MARCH

Saints & Tzadiks —Grammy award winning artists Susan McKeown and Lorin Sklamberg will weave together Yiddish and Gaelic musical traditions for this concert on Wednesday, March 3 at 7 p.m.

Killing Kasztner: The Jew Who Dealt With Nazis  — Filmmaker Gaylen Ross will screen and discuss her provocative work with Professors Dina Porat  and Ronald Zweig and Museum Director Dr. David G. Marwell on Sunday, March 7 at 2 p.m.

The Macaroons: Let’s Go Coconuts — Celebrate Passover with JDub’s first rock band for kids on Sunday, March 14 at 1 p.m.

Documentary Filmmaker Pierre Sauvage: Retrospective & Premiere — The multi-award winning filmmaker will screen and discuss his work during this series on Wednesday, March 17; Thursday, March 18; and Sunday, March 21.

Save the Deli Author David Sax will discuss his quest with cookbook author Arthur Schwartz on Wednesday, March 24 at 7 p.m.

APRIL

An Evening with Acclaimed Israeli Author Sayvon Liebrecht — Liebrecht will discuss her work as it relates to being the child of survivors on Wednesday, April 7 at 7 p.m.

Yom HaShoah— The Museum is free with suggested donation and all are welcome to visit the Museum’s galleries to hear from Holocaust survivors and artifact donors on Sunday, April 11.

The Annual Gathering of Remembrance— Join community leaders for New York’s oldest and largest Holocaust commemoration on Sunday, April 11 at 3 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El on 5th Avenue.

We Are Going to Pick Potatoes: Norway and the Holocaust, the Untold Story — Survivor Irene Levin Berman will be joined by Bjarte Bruland, Chief Curator of The Oslo Jewish Museum, Museum curator Bonnie Gurewitsch and Danish journalist Samuel Rachlin for an enlightening discussion on Wednesday, April 14 at 7 p.m.

Way to Heaven (Himmelweg) The Museum will present Juan Mayorga’s internationally acclaimed play on Sunday, April 18 at 2:30 p.m.

Robert Morgenthau in conversation with Marie Brenner — The former Manhattan D.A. will discuss his illustrious career and remarkable family with the Vanity Fair writer on Wednesday, April 21 at 7 p.m.

Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day at the Museum — Families are invited to enjoy hands-on craft activities and kiddie rocker Shira Kline and her band will play music from their new album Earth Worm Disco on Sunday, April 25.

Backing into Forward — Author Jules Feiffer will present a witty, illustrated romp through his life on Wednesday, April 28 at 7 p.m.
