Yahrzeit: September
11 Observed is

August 29, 2002 through January 5, 2003.
To
commemorate the first anniversary of September 11, the Museum
presents an exhibition that observes the yahrzeit of
our collective loss. A yahrzeit is the Jewish observance
that marks the anniversary of a death. The exhibition will reflect
on the day of tragedy and the many responses to that event.

Sunday through Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Thursday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday and the eve of Jewish holidays: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Museum is closed Saturdays and September 8, 16, 22, and 29 in
observance of the Jewish Holidays.
Ticket Information
Tickets
are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Children under
5 are admitted free.

Museum is located on the waterfront in Battery Park City at 18 First
Place in Manhattan. Please

The nearest subways
are the 4/5 to Bowling Green Station and the N/R to Whitehall Street.
Visitors can also come by taking the J/M/Z to Broad Street or 1/2
to Wall Street. There is a longer walk from these subways.

Museums Celebrate America's Freedoms - Day of Remembrance
On September 11, 2002, the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial
to the Holocaust will join with its colleague museums across the nation
to participate in "Museums Celebrate America's Freedoms" to celebrate
the freedoms that sustain the nation's strength. On September 11,
the Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. and is free to the public.
Thursday, December 12 at 7 p.m.
Birth of a Neighborhood: The History of Battery Park City
The Museum was built on landfill created by the material excavated
during the construction of the World Trade Center. The evening will
explore the history of Battery Park City, its cultural significance,
and the Museum's role in the future of this remarkable neighborhood.
Speakers include Timothy S. Carey, President and CEO of the Battery
Park City Authority, and Alex Garvin, urban planner, author, and teacher.
This event is co-sponsored by the Hugh L. Carey Battery Park City
Authority.
